Painted in oil on canvas board by Clyde Caldwell in 1989, White Magic originally appeared as the cover illustration for TSR's Dragon Magazine #147 in July 1989. Caldwell conceived the artwork after growing tired of depicting sinister sorceresses, choosing instead to portray a benevolent enchantress (modeled by Gail Reidy) in flowing white attire and a winged headdress atop a stone balcony flanked by dragon gargoyles. Holding an orb-topped staff and accompanied by an inquisitive green goblin-like familiar, she channels crackling luminous magic against a starry, moonlit night sky.
Professionally restored and reproduced from the original artwork, this print preserves the powerful visual impact of Clyde Caldwell's painting while offering exceptional detail and color fidelity for modern display. • Premium 200 g/m² matte paper • Exceptional detail and color reproduction • Professionally enhanced and restored image quality • Available in 12x18", 16x24", and 24x36" sizes • Unframed for custom display options • Printed in the USAShare
