Painted by Clyde Caldwell in 1991, The Worm Has Turned was originally created as the cover illustration for TSR's Dragon Magazine, Issue #172 (August 1991). The artwork depicts Babette the Barbarian—modeled after Caldwell's then-fiancée, Babette Fletcher—standing triumphant in ornate armor, fur, and shield alongside the slain body of a monstrous subterranean cavern worm. Set within a stalactite-filled, purple-hued cavern, the dramatic sword-and-sorcery composition playfully references the classic idiom of a turning worm, and has since been reproduced in trading card sets, prints, and model kits.
Professionally restored and reproduced from the original artwork, this print preserves the powerful visual impact of Clyde Caldwell's painting while offering exceptional detail and color fidelity for modern display. • Premium 200 g/m² matte paper • Exceptional detail and color reproduction • Professionally enhanced and restored image quality • Available in 12x18", 16x24", and 24x36" sizes • Unframed for custom display options • Printed in the USAShare
