The three trolls—Tom, Bert, and William (Bill Huggins)—argue around their campfire after capturing Thorin Oakenshield and the dwarves in sacks, misled and delayed by Gandalf's mimicked voices until the morning sun breaks through the forest canopy above, petrifying them forever into solid stone.
