Painted in 1993 by fantasy artist Clyde Caldwell, Minerva Wakes was created as the cover illustration for Holly Lisle's 1994 fantasy novel of the same name, published by Baen Books. The scene depicts the protagonist Minerva, a modern woman unexpectedly transported into a perilous fantasy realm while still sporting her contemporary eyeglasses. Clutching a dagger and remaining vigilant among deadfall, she is unaware of a sinister, horned demonic creature lurking just behind a massive, gnarled tree trunk. In addition to its novel cover debut, the artwork was featured as card #41 in the 1995 Clyde Caldwell trading card series published by FPG and included in his limited-edition fantasy art portfolio, Kingdom of Knives II.

Professionally restored and reproduced from the original artwork, this print preserves the powerful visual impact of Clyde Caldwell's painting while offering exceptional detail and color fidelity for modern display. • Premium 200 g/m² matte paper • Exceptional detail and color reproduction • Professionally enhanced and restored image quality • Available in 12x18", 16x24", and 24x36" sizes • Unframed for custom display options • Printed in the USA
