Painted in 1984 by Clyde Caldwell, "Marvelous Magic" originally debuted as the cover art for the 1985 TSR Dungeons & Dragons accessory module AC4: The Book of Marvelous Magic, authored by Frank Mentzer and Gary Gygax, and was later reused in 1991 as the packaging and manual cover art for SSI's Gold Box video game Gateway to the Savage Frontier.
