Painted by Clyde Caldwell in 2010, Honor's Paradox was created as the cover artwork for P. C. Hodgell's fantasy novel of the same name, published by Baen Books in 2011 as the sixth installment in the Kencyrath series. The painting features series protagonist Jamethiel "Jame" Priest's-Bane standing poised with a dagger and wooden stave against a rugged mountain vista, while a fierce, horned feline predator looms on a ledge behind her. Modeled by frequent Caldwell collaborator Christine Klingbiel in a costume specially made for visual continuity across the book covers, the illustration stands as one of Caldwell's personal favorite later fantasy works.
