Painted by Clyde Caldwell in 1986, Hands of Doom (also known as The Hands of Doom) was first published as an interior illustration plate for TSR's 1987 Dragonlance Legends Calendar, and later featured in TSR trading cards and the Spellfire collectible card game. The artwork depicts the Dragon Highlord Kitiara uth Matar ensnared in a twisted, haunted forest as skeletal undead hands claw up from the ground to pull her down, while she desperately brandishes a protective talisman. In the background, the spectral death knight Lord Loren Soth watches her struggle with folded arms and glowing red eyes, encapsulating the treacherous and uneasy alliance between the two iconic Dragonlance antagonists.
