Painted by Clyde Caldwell in 1987 in oil on board, 'Captured' was created for TSR's 1988 Dragonlance Calendar and subsequently featured in The Art of the Dragonlance Saga. The painting illustrates a climactic moment from the novel Dragons of Autumn Twilight and adventure module DL1: Dragons of Despair set in the subterranean ruins of Xak Tsaroth on Krynn. While the black dragon Onyx (Khisanth) crouches over her hoard holding the incapacitated red-robed mage Raistlin Majere captive atop a sacrificial dais, Goldmoon steps forward channeling the divine power of the Blue Crystal Staff, supported by Caramon Majere and Tasslehoff Burrfoot.
